Carl Jung and the Red Book: An Occult Journey
Lecture – Dr Vivianne Crowley
Carl Gustav Jung was one of the foremost psychologists and thinkers of the twentieth century, whose theories about archetypes, the collective unconscious and synchronicity deeply influenced the Western magical revival. This lecture explores the Red Book, Jung’s illustrated spiritual journal in a critical period of his life. It recorded his inner journey into the unconscious and his dialogue with his Holy Guardian Angel figure – Philemon. For many decades it suppressed: deemed too unorthodox to be published. This illustrated talk will share words, images and insights from the Red Book, which shows how Gnosticism, Esotericism and alchemy were integral to Jung’s inner life.
Dr Vivianne Crowley is a psychologist, researcher and writer who is also a longstanding practitioner in Western esoteric traditions. She is author of works books on Jung, Wicca, kabbalah and psychology.
