| £20

SOLD OUT. Session on Doreen Valiente’s Life and Magic

Join us for talks by those involved in the life and work of Doreen Valiente, her foundation and her new biography. Philip Heselton, and Ashley Mortimer share some of the highlights of Doreen’s magical approach, magical artefacts  — and a hugely significant discovery about Doreen’s activities during the Second World War. There will be an appreciation of Doreen’s relationship with the late John Belham-Payne, who died only this week. We conclude the session with a rarely seen 20-minute film called The Life and Times of Doreen, featuring the last footage of her ever taken.  Max 40 places.

Price: £20  Ring 0207 419 8507 or book online here (below)
Time: Arrive 11.45 for 12 noon start. Ends 2.30 pm, to break and set up for party starting 3pm

The launch party for Doreen Valiente: Witch will follow on after this session, it will run 3pm to 6pm, and is free of charge. If you will be staying for the party, please let Tredwells know on

Members of the Doreen Valiente Foundation will be available for chats, the author will sign copies, and information on the forthcoming Brighton exhibitions will be available. There will be a memorial toast for the recently-deceased head of the foundation, John Belham-Payne.
