Love Magic for the Urban Witch:

Historic Sources and Practical Applications

Afternoon Class – Suzanne Corbie

Sold out.

Aimed at the modern urban witch, this intensive afternoon gives a feminist and creative approach to love magic, drawing on historical materials from the ancient and pre-modern periods. The introductory talk looks at  specific practices of love magic in ancient Sumer, Egypt,  and the Graeco-Roman world, examining a selection of rituals, charms, spells and symbols. From this base, the tutor leads the class in translating the ancient practices into workings applicable today. The philosophical issues of magic are considered, as are the radical potentials of self-love and healing.  This day offers a way into an adventurous witchcraft which is attentive to the powerful antecedents from History.  The workings here can be applied to activism for social justice as much as for inner self-empowerment.

Tutor Suzanne Corbie is a lifelong student of myth and cosmology; she has been a Wiccan since her teens, and she has been teaching the magical arts for most of her adult life. She brings vitality, experience and wisdom to her highly-popular courses.  People of all ages, genders, sexualities, and ethnicities welcome: we are inclusive and diverse. Price includes all supplies and handouts.
