London: Macmillian, 1910. First edition. Hardback. 4to. xxxix, 478 pp. Publisher’s green cloth, lettered gilt at spine. One black and white frontispiece and seven further plates.

 

Condition:  Former Folklore Society library book with “Presentation Copy” blind-stamp at title-page and other stamps at front endpaper, hinges cracked at prelims but still holding, pages uncut at rear, untrimmed fore-edge browned, covers a little used, spine heavily faded, else a solid, if slightly used, very good example.
