Michael Maier was a doctor, diplomat and alchemist in the court of Rudolf II. He wrote extensively on healing, alchemy, and esoteric philosophy. His alchemical masterpiece Atalanta Fugiens (1617) was designed to simultaneously stimulate the senses, the intellect, and the spirit through engagement with the emblems, music, and text. Its aim was to lead the reader on a path to self-initiation through the secrets of alchemical knowledge.

In this book (here in hardback), Sasha Chaitow traces this path through the structure and content of the Atalanta Fugiens , decoding its coded mythical references and proposing an order re-arrangment which, she argues, reveals Maier’s full message. Sasha Chaitow PhD is a British-Greek cultural historian, lecturer and artist. The hardback of the book, here presented, is richly  illustrated throughout in full colour.
