This volume arose out of the Cuming Museum's 2010 retrospective of Austin Osman Spare, which put Spare back on the map for the mainstream art world.
Curator Steve Pochin's programme of talks during the week of the exhibition was memorable, the speakers being acknowledged world experts. This volume commemorates this occasion, and reproduces in colour many of the pieces shown, along with the lecture essays. It is an historic volume capturing an important moment in esoteric art. A card insert is included, signed by all contributors. With the book also comes a DVD documentary: The Bones Go Last: The Seven Ages of Austin Osman Spare by Richard Millington and Thomas Oldham. Book subtitle: 'Featuring several essays and a catalogue of art works by hisself in the Southwark Art Collection.'
