Dancing with Witches - Lois Bourne
Autobiography of one of Wicca's first priestesses, this book by British witich Lois Bourne (1928-2017) relates a rich and engaged life in magic. It is a lucid, intelligent and well-written book, filled with stories of witchcraft friendships, magical workings and how she combined being a housewife with being a public occult figure. A member of the first Gardnerian coven, the Bricket Wood coven, she was also a close friend and travelling companion of Gerald Gardner. Bourne succeeds in bringing to life the feeling of initiatory Gardnerian Craft, complete with its challenges, close relationships and community service. Everybody with an interest in the history of Wicca will find it essential reading.
