This large, comprehensive and detailed volume on the Lucumi practice of shell-divination comes out of the author's many years of study and practice in the tradition. Rightly, the book opens by stressing that diloggun in not simply an oracle, but is better described as a 'spiritual process of rituals, liturgies and discoveries.' The shells are not only house the soul of an orisha, they are the being's mouthpiece. Written by a longstanding initiate, this is a welcome book on a sacred art which is the domain the the Lucumi priesthood.
