Faery Loves & Faery Lais - Gareth Knight
The Breton lai is a medieval Breton narrative poem usually accompanied by musicm carried by travelling musicians and storytellers. Importantly, they are rich in faery and supernatural lore deriving from Celtic myth, legend and folktale. The twelve tales in this book are written from the faery lore in the lai tradition. Nine are taken from anonymous medieval jongleur sources; the other three are from the more courtly tales collected by Marie de France in the late 12th century. The book presents a vivid translation of each, along with a historic and occult commentary.
Author Gareth Knight is a lifelong occultist from the British Western Mystery schools, who is also a lover of medieval French. He has graciously signed these copies for Treadwells customers.
