Geosophia (PB) - Jake Stratton-Kent
Jake Stratton-Kent is an expert on grimoires and goetic, theurgic practice today. In this book he proposes that there is a continuity from the ancient cults of Dionysus and Cybele, through the Greek Magical Papyri, through the 11th-century Picatrix, and thence to the grimoires of the 15th and 16th centuries. In doing so he aims to anchor the modern necromancer in an indigenous, ecstatic tradition. In this and other works, Stratton-Kent furthers his project of infusing European magic with the same vitality that is found in the African diaspora religions. The author is a lifelong practitioner of goetic and grimoire magic and is a recognised authority on it.
