Thomas Taylor (1758-1835) was the first English translator of the works of Plato, Aristotle, Plotinus and the later Platonists. His works were greatly influential on the Romantic and Transcendentalist movements. Proclus' Elements of Theology is one of the great works of the Platonic tradition, comprising 211 propositions which map the unfolding of the One - the singular unity - and its unfolding through the gods and subsequent descent through the levels of intellect, soul and body.
