This is the third in the sex magic trilogy of Maria de Naglowska (1883-1936) Russian occultist and mystic, active in Paris in the 1930s. In this work, the occultist-author conveys the esoteric Christian message of her philosophy through the form of a story with a female protagonist Xenophonta, who undertakes dark adventures but ends up being the sexual initiatrix of her admirer, a youg man called 'Misha'.
Naglowska is an important personage in French occultism who is only now being rediscovered. The book is translated from the original French with an introduction and notes by Donald Traxler.
