The Chaldean Oracles - Ruth Majercik
The Chaldean oracles are a collection of hexameter verses purported to have been 'handed down by the gods' to a certain Julian the Chaldean in the second century C.E.. They were regarded as revelatory by later Platonists and influential to the development of both Gnostic and Hermetic thought. Since its first publication in 1989, Ruth Majercik's presentation of the Oracles has established itself as the baseline volume for investigation of this important work. It includes her valuable notes and commentaries.
