The Grimoire of Pope Honorius is an early and important French 'black magic' grimoires, which proliferated across Europe in the seventeenth century. it combines conjurations of demons of the four directions and the seven days of the week with a collection of of simple charms and spells. This grimoire is second only to the Key of Solomon in its influence on magicians and cunning folk in urban and rural France. The editors of this volume have included material from all four extant French versions, including elements from the previously-unpublished MS Wellcome 4666. They offer a new translation of the corrupted German version of 1845, and an essay tracing recensions of the text.
