Wheels within Wheels 1-4 the complete collection
The complete collection of chapbook of Phil Hine's series Exploring the History of the Chakras, based on his series of lectures given at Treadwell's in 2018.
In this wonderful collection Phil explores chakras in the work of Madame Blavatsky, James Morgan Pryse and his attempt to interpret chakras in the Apocalypse of St. John, and chakras in the writings of Aleister Crowley. He then goes on to examine the influence of psychological approaches to the chakras and how the psychological turn has affected religion and self-making, and how contemporary understandings of chakras have been shaped by psychology.
With extensive notes, bibliography and pointers for further research, this is an excellent short work for anyone interested in the passage of esoteric ideas between East and West. Recommended for those interested by the changes in contemporary occulture, Jungian psychology and the intersection between the body and culture.
