About The Event
From Herne the Hunter to Elen of the Ways, the deer has long walked between worlds in British folklore.
In an immersive afternoon of story and ritual, Joanna Gilar explores the lore of this mysterious animal. The event begins with a short talk, a traditional Scottish tale and open conversation on deer folklore and magic. Joanna then leads breathwork and a guided pathworking to deepen the connection with the story.
The event culminates in a simple, co-created ritual: the power of the deer is invoked to bless the passage through autumn and into winter. Together, participants crush berries for harvest wine, shape wax and raise a toast to the deer guardians. Expect an inspiring workshop of folklore and storytelling in a safe, communal space.
