About The Event
Ella Young was one of the most extraordinary figures in the Celtic Revival. A poet, visionary, and psychic, she did more than anyone else to take the spirit of Irish myth to America. A close friend of Æ, Yeats and Maud Gonne, she was equally involved in the Celtic Mysteries and in revolutionary politics.
This illustrated lecture, drawing on her unique autobiography Flowering Dusk, reveals her as a natural mystic – in contact with fairies, elementals and the sacred landscape throughout her life. It also discusses how she took the Celtic Mysteries to California, the remarkable artists and mystics she met (including Ansel Adams and Henry Cowell) and her relationship to the American New Age movement. Further, it explores her hitherto unsuspected influence on West Coast paganism, including Wicca.
After the talk, there'll be an audience Q&A followed by complimentary wine and conversation upstairs. Recommended for all those interested in…
