About The Event
This two-part workshop will cover a range of approaches to sigil magic; from bind runes and angelic seals, to the innovations of modern sorcerers including Austin Osman Spare, Pete Carroll and Grant Morrison. Students will learn how to create and empower sigils using digital media, how to make audio sigils, and how to create hypersigils - extended artworks used as a means to access magical power. Participants will explore the theory of sigil magic in the work of Spare, Alan Chapman and others. During these sessions, participants will have several opportunities to create and activate their own sigils as they learn one of the most accessible, diverse and powerful approaches to doing magic.
