About The Event
Iceland is one the last northern bastions of folk sorcery, plant healers and galdr. To celebrate the launch of his new book Icelandic Plant Magic, author Albert Bjorn Shiell will join director Christina Oakley Harrington on our legendary sofa to unpack the Icelandic magical path. He will then take questions from a Treadwell's audience about this little-known tradition. We will conclude the evening with wine, informal discussion and book signings for all those present.
Albert Björn Shiell began his magical career by immersing himself in the folk sorcery of Sussex, where he grew up. In 2017 he moved to Reykjavik, turning his focus to the old practices of his new homeland. He has dedicated the past couple of years to Icelandic plant magic, which he explores within the land-based, animistic framework of the North. This book is the fruit of that research and those workings. He is found on Sussex_Pellar.
