About The Event
In this in-person talk at Treadwell's, Juliana Gleeson joins Christina on the sofa to discuss the history and mythological aspects of the intersex movement. Drawing from her new book, Hermaphrodite Logic, Gleeson charts the milestones of the political struggle to render the reshaping of sex more humane, exploring its occult dimensions. Expect an illuminating conversation about a previously hidden minority, blending philosophical insights and personal testimonies with esoteric elements and myth. After the interview, the audience has a chance to ask questions. A drinks party on the shop floor with complimentary wine and soft drinks follows.
Juliana Gleeson (she/her) is a writer, comedian and historian. She has published essays in outlets including Viewpoint Magazine, Invert Journal and VICE, and performed internationally at a wide range of communist and queer cultural events. She is the co-editor of Transgender Marxism.
