About The Event

In this lecture, we will not only examine the history and traditions of nigromantia – that medieval category of magic which included working with demons, the dead, and various other spirits deemed ‘unclean’ – but look to some modern expressions of these techniques, tools, and traditions in contemporary occult discourse and practice. This will include considering various aspects of ancestral veneration, working with the local dead of your area, and approaching various chthonic spirits and dead magicians as tutelary shades. It will also include examination of helpful operative components from a range of both pre-modern grimoires and traditional workings of British folk magic.

This lecture will provide attendees with advice and cautions on how to establish, maintain, and deepen spiritual alliances and relationships with assisting familiar spirits in your neighbourhood cemetery and your home; as well as offering means and methods to better identify and remediate spirit intrusions, maleficia, and unhelpful spiritual conditions.
