About The Event
From the early uses of sieve and shears to modern day pendulum work, dowsing tools have always been the witch’s instrument of finding.
In this class, partipants will learn about the folkloric traditions behind these tools and why they're important. Whether to find water, the sex of an unborn child or buried treasure, dowsing with rod or pin can aid magical workings and bring insight to the querent. Expect to walk away with an understanding of how to use these tools, and a host of scenarios for which they're helpful.
The 'Witch's Tools' class series is a deep dive into several tools that, across time and tradition, have proven central to the making of magic.
Hannah Sanders has a doctorate in anthropology and is a longstanding practitioner of folk and herb magic. She was the last apprentice of writer and tarot reader Joyce Collin-Smith, and she is the granddaughter of a well-known Irish fortune teller. Professionally, she is a traditional folk singer.
