About The Event

Join us for a live reading with Alice O'Malley-Woods as she shares work from her creative tenure at Treadwell's.

Alice was poet-in-residence at the store in spring 2024 and has created several pieces inspired by her time with us. Her work is at the forefront of emergent poetic practice and we're proud to host her as she reads material that has come to life over the past three months. Expect themes of meeting the god Pan, reading the tarot, coping with climate grief, and exploring the esoteric. Afterwards, we'll take it upstairs for an informal soirée – everyone is invited to stay on for chats and complimentary wine. A night for lovers of the written word and those seeking creative inspiration.

Alice O'Malley-Woods is a poet based in Lewes, Sussex. She is part of the Techne consortium, whose members explore the cutting edges of sense, thinking, creativity and theory. In addition to her creative work, she is doctoral student at the University of Brighton, working on a thesis developing an eco-feminist ecriture feminine. Website:
