About The Event
It's becoming increasingly clear that gender fluidity has an important role to play in human spiritual development.
In this 2-part online workshop, Julian Vayne guides students through the history, theory and praxis of queer magic. He begins by unpacking several magical cultures in connection to concepts of gender, polarity, sexuality and trans identity. The group learns about the heteronormative ideas prevalent in 20th century occulture and how they were challenged by practitioners at the time. Julian then shares some of the world's sacred gender-bending myths and examples of trans-positive magico-cultural spaces, before considering what queer magic has to offer the occult today. In both sessions, there will be several practical exercises to enable magical exploration of these concepts.
By the end, participants will have a broader understanding of the history and culture of queer magic, and several techniques to empower their own identity and practice.
