About The Event
First appearing in a 2019 collection, Rachel Pollack’s Trans Central Station is a luminous autobiographical meditation on trans existence.
In this in-person event at Treadwell’s, Sarah Schulman joins Morgan M Page to discuss the themes, highlights and legacy of Pollack’s great work. The essay places trans experience within deep time, connecting it with myth, shamanism and magic – while also ranging across subjects such as science fiction, early trans activism and comics. The evening celebrates the new stand-alone edition of Trans Central Station, featuring an extensive introduction by Sarah Schulman – from Spiral House, an imprint of Silver Press. A Q&A follows the discussion, along with a drinks soirée on the shop floor. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing.
Sarah Schulman is an American writer, activist and AIDS historian. She holds an endowed chair at Northwestern University and is a fellow of the New York Institute…
