About The Event
From the experience of psychedelic synesthesia to using barbarous words of evocation to make spirits appear; the complex relationship between hearing and sight is a cornerstone of magical practice. In this experiential and experimental workshop Julian Vayne will introduce us to a range of techniques to help us work with this relationship. We'll be exploring the sounds of the Greek Magical Papyri, Shipibo-Conibo ayahuasca songs, the Ouranian Barbaric of Chaos Magic, galdr, and how shape, movement and form are developed by each system. Then we'll look at the neurological and cross-cultural underpinnings of these approaches and begin to discover our own.
Julian Vayne is an occultist over 35 years’ experience. His work is informed by chaos magic, and by lineages in Wicca and Tantra. A regular workshop leader and speaker, he is also a co-organizer of the psychedelic conference Breaking Convention, and he sits on the board of The Journal of Psychedelic Studies. His books, essays and articles are published in both the academic and esoteric press. Site: julianvayne.com
