About The Event
This two-part workshop is dedicated to Aleister Crowley’s Thoth Tarot (illustrated by Frieda Harris), diving deep into the magical system of this important and richly symbolic deck. Julian Vayne, who has been using this deck for 40 years, leads the class in a blend of lectures, discussions and hands-on exercises. Participants learn the cards’ symbolism, and also how to use them in self-empowerment practices and in ceremonial magic rites. Experienced Thoth users will find some fresh approaches here, while those who are new to the deck will find a friendly, informed introduction.
Please bring: A Thoth deck and a pen and paper for notes.
Julian Vayne is an occultist over 35 years’ experience. His work is informed by chaos magic, and by lineages in Wicca and Tantra. A regular workshop leader and speaker, Julian is also a co-organizer of the psychedelic conference Breaking Convention, and he sits on the board of The Journal of Psychedelic Studies. His books, essays and articles are published in both the academic and esoteric press.
