About The Event

Welsh folk witch Mhara Starling joins Julian Vayne to talk about working with the landscape, and the unique magic of the land. Mhara tells stories from her magical practices and adventures which are embedded in her native Wales, including her experiences of working with the Red Dragon of her homeland. After a lively discussin, she and Julian  lead an interactive Q&A, and in this part of the evening your participation and questions are warmly welcomed. Please join us.

Mhara Starling was born in North Wales, raised on the Isle of Anglesey, and is a native Welsh speaker. A practitioner from a young age, she now shares her love of lore of the Land of the Red Dragon via writing and social media. Her book Welsh Witchcraft explores folk traditions and ways to incorporate them into a modern practice. Julian Vayne's magic is deeply rooted in the spirit of place. He has led retreats, performed handfastings and undertaken entheogenic journeys in theWales. He lives in north Devon, connected to Wales by the great river Severn. His practice includes psychogeographical magic in both urban and rural landscapes, some of these explorations in Devon and Cornwall are described in the book, co-authored with Greg Humphries, Walking Backwards: or The Magical Art of Psychedelic Psychogeography.
