About The Event
Join us for a panel discussion with three leading writers of the current folk / occult revival.
Christina Oakley Harrington chairs this talk around ghostly folk traditions, real witches and old spells. Icy Sedgwick is a folklore writer and host of the Fabulous Folklore with Icy podcast; she is a lover of weird tales, Gothic fiction and dark fantasy fiction. Semra Haksever is the founder of East London's esoteric emporium Mama Moon, and a practitioner of intuitive eclectic magic. Hazel Atkinson is based in Edinburgh and brings solid degree-level studies in History and Classics to her folklore and mythic writings. Drinks, toasts and signings follow.
This event launches three new Dorling Kindersley titles. Icy Sedgwick's Ghostlore is an illustrated celebration of fifty ghosts worldwide. Semra Haksever's Book of Witchcraft introduces tarot, astrology, spellcasting, divination and sigils. Hazel Atkinson's Extraordinary History of Witches brings to children (aged 8-12) tales of historical witch trials, and magic worldwide.
