About The Event

Witches have long been associated with hares, and witches definitely have an affinity with antlered and horned animals – in England, they are often linked to stags, including figures such as Herne the Hunter. Rebecca Beattie leads participants through some historical sources which link witches to these two enigmatic creatures, and from there she turns to the ways participants can bring the hare and the stag into their own magical lives. There will be an illustrated talk followed by Q & A and a guided meditation.

Rebecca Beattie brings an informative approach to her inclusive style or teaching, aimed at those starting out. A Wiccan priestess who apprenticed in her tradition over 15 years, she brings much lived experience and practical knowledge. She has an MA in Literature (London) and a doctorate in Creative Writing (Middlesex) with a dissertation on the modernist mystic Mary Webb. She is a published author with several books to her name.
