About The Event
Jake Stratton-Kent is an experimental magician, acclaimed for his long experience performing necromancy and grimoire magic. Tonight he talks with Julian Vayne about summoning spirits. Â In this wide-ranging conversation, the two share personal anedcotes and compare approaches, noting similarities and differences. They are both articulate, experienced, charismatic and bright, so it will be a riveting ride covering the territory of necromancy and goetia. Audience participation during the Q&A.Â
Jake Stratton-Kent  has worked for many years in experimental conjure magic, including the methods outlined in the grimoires and magical papyri. He endeavours to combine awareness of tradition with with innovation and fresh thinking. He has written extensively on the subject (publications).  Julian Vayne is an occultisst who has worked in formal ceremonial settings as well as shamanic and freeform styles of magic. He combines the multimodal approach of chaos magic with an animist perspective on spirit work. He is particularly interested in the role that spirits can play in psychedelic experience and other altered states of awareness (publications)
