About The Event
Divination played an essential role in the the ancient world, used to seek guidance from the gods in matters both great and small.
In this in-person workshop, Jules McArthur explores the role and practice of divination in ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome. Participants learn about the different methods used across these cultures and how they can be adapted for modern use. Participants then have the opportunity to practise a range of divinatory methods, including astragalomancy (knucklebones), bibliomancy (book divination) and lecanomancy (bowl scrying). By the end of the workshop, everyone will have a practical foundation for working with ancient divination techniques today. Jules McArthur has devoted their life to the study and practice of ancient magic. As a Wiccan priestex, practising magician, tarot reader and professional Classicist, they combine a rich understanding of the ancient world with long-term experience of working magic.
