About The Event
The British Museum is an icon in British occultism: from the 1880s, leading magicians met in the reading room, studied and translated seminal texts, and saw pagan deities in the galleries. Caroline Wise highlights the objects and deities that inspired the people at the heart of the occult revival, focussing in particular galleries. Throughout, she tells tales about the Order of the Golden Dawn, Dion Fortune, Florence Farr, Wallis Budge John Dee and Aleister Crowley. Wise is a consummate raconteur, with many occult adventures of her own. We promise you a wonderful time. Max 10 attendees.
