'Meeting the Gods' Workshop Series

In this session, Rebecca Beattie first surveys grimoire magic, explaining how magical practitioners used to communicate with divine entities using conjuring, compelling and banishing. Moving forward to the Victorian era, she gives brief overview of spiritualist techniques. She then compares these with contemporary methods, focussing on connecting with the divine, and leads a guided meditation to give a practical experience of meeting personal guides.

Rebecca Beattie brings an informative approach to her inclusive style or teaching, aimed at those starting out. A Wiccan priestess who apprenticed in her tradition over 15 years, she brings much lived experience and practical knowledge. She has an MA in Literature (London) and a doctorate in Creative Writing (Middlesex) with a dissertation on the modernist mystic Mary Webb. She is a published author with several books to her name.
