About The Event
The ancient world used a variety of divinatory methods to answer their questions on life and the dilemmas that confronted them.
In this workshop, Suzanne Corbie explores the techniques of two ancient methods of divination that are still useful and relevant today. Beginning by explaining the history of their use and dispelling myths, she then moves on to teach the group how to carry out these forms of divination themselves. Here, participants will focus on divining through natural phenemona – learning to see signs and omens from the flight of birds and movement of clouds.
The methods explored are:
Augury/orthinomancy – divining by observing the behaviour of birds (the longest lasting divinatory technique in the ancient world)
Aeromancy – divining by observing phenomena of air and sky (clouds, wind, lightning)
Suzanne Corbie has been engaged in esoteric and folkloric traditions for more than four decades. For the last 25 years, she has lectured and taught on tarot and witchcraft, in person and online, nationally and internationally. She is a longstanding Wiccan priestess, and she also holds a Master's degree in 'Myth, Cosmology & the Sacred'.
