About The Event
The Esoteric Book Club is a monthly gathering for those drawn to the rich, strange world of occult literature.
Each in-person session begins with a short illustrated talk from Professor Allan Johnson on the author, historical context and esoteric themes of the chosen text, followed by group discussion. Guided meditations and reflective exercises help deepen engagement with the book. Please read the selected title in advance and bring a copy, along with a notebook and pen. For this session, we’ll be reading Piranesi – Susanna Clarke’s mesmerising tale of a solitary figure wandering a vast labyrinth, and the mysteries he begins to uncover.
The Esoteric Book Club meets on the first Wednesday of every month, 7–9pm. We'll be publishing the individual events for them in the coming weeks. Upcoming reads include:
