In the witches' wheel of the year, the Summer Solstice (or Midsummer) is an important holiday. As the longest day in the annual calendar, it's known as a time of celebration and great power – yet it also marks the tipping point towards the darker half of the year.

In this online workshop, Rebecca Beattie explores how to harness the bold, radiant qualities of the season to recover a sense of strength and sovereignty. Delving into history, folklore and witchcraft practices, the group discusses the traditions celebrated at this time of year, and examines their context within the wider Wheel of the Year. Rebecca then provides a host of tools to meaningfully celebrate Midsummer, focusing on the theme of personal empowerment. The practical element of the workshop will be to craft a magical solar oil, which will then be used in a group ritual to celebrate the sun's zenith.
