About The Event

Horned gods are familiar figures in myth and magic, but horned goddesses have also quietly captured the imaginations of scholars and mystics.

In this in-person talk at Treadwell’s, Dr Anna Milon traces the story of antlered female figures across time. Beginning with early 20th-century thinkers such as Sir Flinders Petrie, she moves to the visions of Caroline Wise and Chesca Potter in the 1980s, through which Elen of the Ways entered modern paganism. The talk explores how Elen came to be understood as a goddess of the British shamanic tradition, shaped by fragments of history and echoes of the subarctic peoples’ veneration of deer. She then reflects on why horned goddesses continue to resonate today. The evening concludes with a Q&A, followed by complimentary drinks and informal conversation.

Dr Anna Milon is an independent researcher of occult history. Her main interest lies in the Horned God and in the overlap…
