About The Event
Victorian Classicist Jane Ellen Harrison was a renegade celebrity scholar who promoted widely several of the concepts which came to be pillars of the Pagan revival: the concept of an ancient universal mother goddess; the three phases of Maiden, Mother, and Crone; and the belief that Greek religion was cthonic, ecstatic and primal. Harrison and her ideas are the subject of this lecture. She herself was charismatic, powerful character; she took society by storm, rocking a few boats and changing the landscape of ancient religion. Join us for a memorable lecture
