About The Event
Join us for a night of beautiful live music and Welsh history with folk musician Chris Avery.
In this in-person event, Chris performs a live set of music inspired by nature, longing, hope and resistance. Drawing on early Welsh sources, including a 1613 harp manuscript, he reimagines traditional material through guitar and song. A short talk introduces the music, exploring Welsh bardic traditions and their relevance today. Expect an evening of haunting melodies and illuminating history, followed by a drinks soirée on the shop floor.
Chris Avery is a Welsh folk musician, guitarist and composer. He works with traditional and ancient melodies from Welsh folk song to classical music, transforming and reimagining them for modern audiences. Appearing on stages from Glastonbury to Shakespeare’s Globe, his recent walking tour of the Wales Coast Path recently propelled him into the press spotlight, with the BBC World Spotlight describing Chris as having "taken…
