About The Event
Marie-Louise von Franz was Carl Jung's main intellectual collaborator in his later life, working with him on fairy tales, alchemy and dreams. She was also involved in his dialogues with quantum physicists to develop the concept of synchronicity, the meaningful coincidences that can change people's lives. Intellectually brilliant, she translated the 15th century alchemical text Aurora Consurgens and was the first to identify its author. As a psychological practitioner, she famously analysed over 65,000 of her client’s dreams. For von Franz, the veil between imagination and magic was thin and to voyage into the unconscious was a shamanic initiation. Vivianne Crowley's lecture introduces her work and explores its relevance to magic and spirituality today. This is the third in a three-lecture series on Jung and his close collaborators.
Dr Vivianne Crowley PhD is an internationally renowned Wiccan high priestess and author. She is a psychologist, lecturing on the psychology of religion and on contemporary Pagan and magical traditions at universities and events worldwide. She is the author of books on Wicca, Paganism and natural magic, and and two on Jung: Carl Jung: A Journey of Transformation (Quest), and Jungian Spirituality (HarperCollins). With her husband Chris, she runs experiential spiritual psychology weekends drawing on Jung's work.
