About The Event
There is much talk about the action of giving blessings within folk magic across Europe, but what does it actually mean to bestow or seek blessings? Often considered a work of gratitude or an offering of love and approval. In this class you will look beyond the historical and the religious to uncover the deeper nature of blessings as a magical practice.
With Treadwell’s folk witch Hannah Sanders, spend an evening considering various techniques for the blessings of the self and others, animals, objects and places for the fortification and joy of the world.
Hannah Sanders has a doctorate in anthropology and is a longstanding practitioner of folk and herb magic. She was the last apprentice of writer and tarot reader Joyce Collin-Smith, and she is the granddaughter of a well-known Irish fortune teller. Professionally, she is a traditional folk singer.
