About The Event

Join us for an intriguing look at how the planetary powers from a classical western perspective differ from South Asian expressions.

In this online event, Shreya and Rebecca will explore a range of themes; the masculine, feminine and non-binary expressions of the planetary powers, the different religious and spiritual histories which have informed the understanding of how these planets affect humanity, the mythologies, fables and stories associated with the planets as their own characters, the iconography and magical correspondences associated with the planets, and how contemporary practitioners work with these planetary forces today (in the western context), and how understandings of the South Asian context are impossible without confronting the realities of caste and religious hierarchies. There will be lots to learn as we discover the difference and similarities in approach.

Shreya Ila Anasuya is a writer and researcher from India who is interested in cultural history, mythology and folklore,…
