Protective Magic Workshop

This workshop will explore the history of protective magic and how to use it today.  Rebecca Beattie discusses protective magic as laid out in the grimoire tradition, then goes on to talk about how it has evolved into the many forms used today. For the practical side of the evening, participants will be led through a few simple protection spells — all  in the tradition of European folk magic.

Rebecca Beattie is a long-standing practitioner of Western magical methods; she is a Wiccan priestess and a friendly, engaged tutor. In her research life, she is a doctoral researcher working on the modernist writer Mary Webb.
