About The Event
A monthly study of the minor arcana of the tarot, unfolding astrologically as the sun moves into each sign. Attendees will discuss the cards inhabiting each zodiacal symbol in real-time. Beginning with the 8, 9 and 10 of Swords, which traditionally correspond to Gemini, participants will examine the previous treatment of the cards by a variety of historical sources, and will respond to these symbols by tapping into their own intuitive responses. This allows for an opportunity to reflect deeply on each card in an embodied way, and to interpret the significance of each symbol through a queer lens. Nicole’s meditative approach creates the space to study, explore, and discuss the narrative of the archetypal energies contained within the symbolism of the cards. Suitable for those new to tarot or those looking to reframe or build upon their knowledge of the tarot, these workshops can be attended as a series or as isolated events.
Attendees will need: A deck of playing cards, or a blank deck of cards, or just 3 pieces of roughly card-sized rectangular paper on which to draw cards and take notes. A journal/notebook.
Nicole Bettencourt Coelho is a sound therapist, hypnotherapist and professional musician with an interest in semiotics, ritual forms and queering magic.
