Sound Bath for Jupiter Magic - Experiential Session

Nicole Bettencourt Coelho' ritualised sound journeys give participants direct, deep encounters with the powers of the seven sacred planets, formerly called the 'wandering stars.' This evening is dedicated to Jupiter, energy of expansiveness, generosity, good fortune and benevolence.  It opens with a hypnotic visualisation to allow participants to enter a dream-like state, while immersed in corresponding incenses. It then moves into a meditation in sound, in which each person bathes in the Jupiterian resonances of gongs, crystal bowls, and shakers. 

           A collective tincture will be made on an altar; Jupiterian plants will be ceremoniously placed into an immersion of preservative of 35% alcoholic spirit, and a non-alcoholic alternative available by advance arrangement. Participants will take some home so it can form part of an ongoing meditation beyond the event, and responded to in one's own way. 

        Dedicating time and space is essential in forming personal connection to the archetypes of traditional planetary magic. Please dress comfortably as you will be lying down for 45 minutes. Bring a notebook if you would like to write about your journey afterwards. Feel free to bring your water bottle, a yoga mat, and a pillow or blanket or any other comforts / talismans that you would like with you in the space.  

         Nicole Bettencourt Coelho is a musician, sound therapist and sound artist with an interest in semiotics, ritual forms and queer magic. Their work explores the ability of sound and visualisation to effect transformation in the context of trance.
