Sound Bath for Solar Magic - Experiential Session

Nicole Bettencourt Coelho leads thenext of her ritualised sound journeys, which give participants direct, deep encounters with the powers of the seven sacred planets, formerly called the 'wandering stars. This evening is dedicated to the Sun, the enduring spirit, the centre within the whole, whose light nonetheless casts shadows…It opens with a hypnotic visualisation to allow participants to enter a dream-like state, enhanced by sun-themed incenses. It then moves into a meditation in sound, in which each person bathes in the solar resonances of gongs, crystal bowls, and shakers.  On the solar altar, the group then make a tincture, with the plants immered ceremoniously into alcoholic spirit or a non-alcoholic alternative. Participants will take some home so it can form part of an ongoing meditation beyond the event. 

Dress: dress comfortably; you will be lying down for 45 minutes. 

Bring: a notebook if you would like to write about your journey afterwards. 

Optional: water bottle, a pillow or blanket, or any personal comforts / talismans

Nicole Bettencourt Coelho is a musician, sound therapist and sound artist with an interest in semiotics, ritual forms and queer magic. Their work explores sound and visualisation to effect transformation in the context of trance.
