About The Event
Between the 14th and 17th centuries, a few people secretly conjured demons, angels and other spirits, using instruction booklets called grimoires.
In this engaging in-person event, David Rankine presents an illustrated lecture on spirit summoning – old-school European style. Expect to learn about the people that performed this kind of magic, why they did so and what texts they used. The lecture also examines individual accounts of how these rituals went, including stories of remarkably good results. The talk is followed by a drinks soirée on the shop floor.
David Rankine has been practising magic for 46 years. He is also a specialist researcher of grimoires and their constituent practices. He has had 35 books published on magic, most recently the two-volume Grimoire Encyclopaedia,…
