About The Event
Talk and Heathen Rite for Frey and Freya
Talk and Spring Ceremony – Andre and Amanda Henriques
You are invited to a Norse-inspired Heathen ritual, celebrating the month of May with joy, abundance, desire and beauty. Before the ceremony, to set the scene, there will be a talk on the ritual structure, the cosmology of the Norse, and the myths and meanings of the deities relevant for this blot, Frey and Freya. The second part of the evening will be the rite itself: in a space created in accordance with Norse cosmology, ancestors, gods and goddesses will be called. The rite asks their blessings, gifts, and lessons remembered and celebrated.
This is welcoming, diversity-positive event, led by experienced and friendly facilitators. Amanda and Andre Henriques have been active in the Heathen community for several years, and have led many ceremonies, lectures and workshops on the subject of the Northern traditions of Europe. Along with all the staff at Treadwell’s, they share a commitment to full inclusiveness for people of all ethnicities, backgrounds and sexualities. No experience is required, and all are welcome. Drink and light food is included.
