About The Event
Keith Broad's illustrated lecture on prehistoric goddesses is an approachable introduction to the objects and ideas of ancient divine feminine. Most of us have seen the Venus of Willendorf, and many of us love the Lilith/Ishtar plaque known as 'The Queen of the Night', but there are many more -- beautiful and intriguing. Keith discusses the striking examples  from cave art, drawings, sculpture and architecture. Down the years, scholars have posited theories about their meaning in ancient cultures: their religions and societal structures. These are unresolved, but what is certain, however, is their profound and inspirational impact on modern Pagans. Join us for this visually rich, engaging lecture.
Keith Broad holds an MA in Medieval Studies from the University of London. He has been involved with esoteric studies and history for many years, running the Magicka School in the 2000s, has written for E-zines, and now runs an eclectic witchcraft group in East London; his professional life is in schools education and teaching.
